     I am a retired English/Spanish high school and middle school teacher.  I have taught in the U.S. and overseas and I have lived in Mexico, Spain, and Germany as well as the U.S.  I presently live in Naples, FL and I love the sunshine, beach, Gulf of Mexico, palm trees and, of course, friends and family.  Life is good!

     I may be retired, but I have rewired, and I am now embarking on a freelance writing and photography career online.  You can see samples of my writing on freelanced.com/suzannahwalker, as well.  I am always working to improve my photography and have learned so much from other photographers here on HubPages.

     I have now been writing on HubPages for six months and I feel it is time to take stock of my time here.  I thoroughly enjoy writing for HubPages and I highly recommend writing here.  The Hubbers I've met here are wonderful, interesting, insightful, and so, so encouraging.  This is a wonderful place to hone your writing  skills and my experience here has been so uplifting and positive.

     You get out of this site exactly what you put into it.  If you are willing to read, comment and learn, you will love writing here.  I have made friends with different people from all over the world and here in the U.S.  There is not a day that goes by that I don't read a phenomenally interesting and/or beautiful hub. 

     Had I not started writing on this site, I would have never had the  courage to write and publish my poetry.  The encouragement and support I have received from fellow hubbers is wonderful.    My writing in general has improved and I have learned so much from other hubs and hubbers, and it has not just been about writing.  There are many caring writers here on HubPages to experience.
